Where are you based, and do you travel for shoots?
I’m based in Christchurch and photograph clients throughout Canterbury and beyond. Travel can also be arranged for shoots outside Christchurch.
How far in advance should I book my shoot?
For events, I recommend booking as early as possible, particularly for weekends and peak seasons. Branding and portrait sessions generally have more flexibility, but it’s still worth getting in touch early to secure your preferred date.
How do I book a shoot?
Simply get in touch through my enquiry form or give me a ring on 020 408 35188. We’ll chat about what you need, your goals and the best approach for your shoot before confirming your booking.
What are your payment options?
In order to secure your photoshoot date, I require a 25% non-refundable deposit fee. The remaining fee will be due within 7 days following your photoshoot (unless specified otherwise). If weather doesn't permit shooting on our booked date, the deposit is transferable to another agreed date.
What should I wear for my shoot?
Wear something that you're comfortable in. There's nothing worse than trying to feel relaxed and good about yourself in front of the camera if you're battling your own clothing! If you require any advice as to what outfits would be best for your shoot, I'm more than happy to help.
What if I feel nervous about being in front of the camera?
Most people aren’t professional models — and you don’t need to be! I’ll give you direction throughout the shoot and create a relaxed environment so your photos feel natural rather than forced.
How will I receive my images following the shoot?
I will send your images to you via a private online gallery called 'Pixieset'. This gallery is passcode-protected, and you will have the option to download your images in both web and print resolution. This gallery will remain online for 30 days following your shoot, and it is your responsibility to download the files to your own device(s) before those 30 days are up. I suggest always keeping two back-ups of your special images. For me personally, I use Google Drive and have an external hard drive, too.
Do you have a studio and props for a shoot?
No I don't have a studio. My style has always lended itself more towards using natural light and settings. However, I am always open to hiring out a space and props if need be!
Why should I invest in getting photos taken?
This is absolutely a personal choice, and I understand that the financial side of things can be a barrier for wanting to get professional images taken. However, all I can say is that when you invest in me, you're investing in someone who genuinely cares about giving you a great experience. Also, if you're a business owner, professional imagery can really add credibility to your brand image. If you're looking for snaps from a special event to treasure forever, I'm someone who sees magical little moments that perhaps aren't always visible to other people. My perspective is my own, and if you like what you see, then we're a good fit!
Do you provide creative direction?
Absolutely! I can help bring your ideas to life, from location and styling to posing, composition and the overall feel of your images. If you’re not sure exactly what you want, that’s no problem - we’ll work together to create a shoot that feels authentic to you.
